Artist's Description

Long before the digital days, the higher the antenna, the better the reception. Back then, at the end of the night the TV stations would "sign off" and often play the Star Spangled Banner with a waving US flag (in Black and White) and then going to a test signal till morning.

James Clinich is a self taught photographer with a love of abandoned places (and things) and a passion for nighttime photography. James spends a great deal of time when he's not out taking pictures seeking out new abandoned places to photograph. He takes pride in being the first (and often possibly the only) person to capture many of these places. He considers himself to be somewhat of a pioneer (or maybe a trailblazer) and similar in some respects to Ansel Adams. A good friend once told him "you can stand where Ansel stood and put your tripod where Ansel put his, and although you may capture an image much the same as Ansel's, it will never be an Ansel Adams print."
